Another terrific bottling from Irish distillery Glendalough, forming part of their esteemed single cask series.
This dram has been matured initially in former Bourbon barrels, before a finishing period in Burgundy wine casks.
The result is a delicious whiskey, with a core of creamy, spicy and vanilla-led Bourbon cask notes, accompanied by fruitier wine flavours of red grapes, raspberries, cherries, mixed spice and wine tannins.

Just 366 bottles of this single cask release were produced.

Tasting Notes
NOSE:
Initially fruity vanilla, then dark berries and slightly spicy aromas of cinnamon and oak.
TASTE:
Full, soft body with hints of butterscotch and mild honey, in addition the berries and the spicy notes - above all a slightly earthy note.
FINISH:
Long, now spicy finish with cardamom, aniseed and ground cinnamon bark - raisins, figs and dark chocolate in the background.
