Pelissero - Rigadin Langhe Riesling | Italian White Wine

This is a structured and complex wine with late maturation (around mid-September), atypical looking for this variety. The North-exposure and the height of 400 m. on a very windy side help to give aroma and complexity to the wine. Pelissero has made valiant efforts to keep good leaf coverage until the harvest time in order to prevent sunstrokes and an excessive contact with the warm winds coming from the valley. Harvested around mid-September. Light maceration at a low temperature to give more character and more complexity. Low temperature fermentation with indigenous yeasts and, after the winter season’s break in which lies on fermentation yeasts with repeated pumping, is put directly into the bottle where it rests for few months before being put on the market.
