Description
Côte de Beaune-Villages is a monovarietal Pinot Noir red wine from the appellation of Côte de Beaune-Villages, produced by Joseph Drouhin.
This wine is an assemblage of the 16 different villages of the Côte de Beaune (Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pommard and Volnay are the exceptions). Joseph Drouhin carefully selects the grapes of only a few of these villages. Guided by rigorous tasting and age-old experience, Maison Joseph Drouhin decides which villages will be selected. With the soil comprised of clay and limestone, the maceration and vinification takes 2 to 3 weeks with total control and utmost care.
Tasting Notes
This wine is both simple and elegant. A nice purple color. Delicate red fruit aromas on the nose. This is a great example of what the Pinot Noir grape can produce on the Burgundian terroir.
