Emilio Moro - Malleolus | Spanish Red Wine

Emilio Moro Malleolus is a red wine produced in the Ribera del Duero by the Emilio Moro winery. Emilio Moro is a family winery that continues to develop in the traditional way, using inherited knowledge passed from generation to generation since its founding over 70 years ago.

The name of this wine comes from the Latin word 'majuelo', a term used to refer to vineyards. Emilio Moro Malleolus is a single variety of Tinto Fino.

The grapes used for making Malleolus comes from the Camino Viejo vineyard. A vineyard planted in 1989, at an altitude of 890 metres above sea level, on a hillside with a steep slope. The soils are clay with some areas of limestone concentration especially in the higher parts of the estate.

The development of Emilio Moro Malleolus begins with a maceration with the skins that stretches for 28 days. After this maceration, malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging occurs for 18 months in new French Allier oak barrels.

Emilio Moro Malleolus is an elegant, sincere and complex wine with a large structure. A great expression of Tinta del País, the queen variety of Ribera del Duero.
